He was born in Davachi region on the 28th of July, 1973. He finished secondary school in his own region in 1990. Roman was called for military service in 1992. After having military training in Nakhchivan city, he was sent to Sadarak. The vicious enemy was all the time attacking Nakhchivan and trying to invade the region back then. Sadarak region which is very close to the enemy borders was all the time a field of bloody battles. Yusifov Roman was all the time taking active part in all the battles and fulfilling his duty in front of the Motherland with honor. But when he was wounded in 1992, he was first sent to Nakhchivan to have some treatment and then to Baki city. After having treatment, he continued his military service within the Unit # 777.
The young soldier was a good example and his superior knowledge and behavior did not pass unseen. He was sent to the course of officers. Roman Yusifov returned back as a lieutenant after successfully finishing the course. He then was appointed as a platoon commander.
The stability in the country as again destroyed on the 17th of March, 1995. A civil war was about to start in Baki city. The aim of the terrorist groups that were trying coup d’état, was to devour the country from inside and create anarchy within the country so that the outside vultures could easily break the Motherland into pieces.
But thanks to the National Army their dark plans were destroyed. And the Army prevented coup d’état. Roman Yusifov was also actively involved in protection of the country once again and he sacrificed his own life in order to protect the Unity and Sovereignty of the Motherland as many others did before him.
He was single.
Yusifov Roman Yasef was posthumously awarded the title of the “National Hero of Azerbaijan” by the decree # 307 of the president of Azerbaijani republic on the 4th of April, 1995.
He was buried in Galagah village of Davachi region. The school # 2 where he once studied is named after the hero.
